See Jira boards in Teams

David Rabkin Updated by David Rabkin

What to know:

  • You must have Jira Integration+ already installed and configured.
  • You can make an unlimited number of boards in channels.
  • In addition to boards, you can view lists of Jira issues in Teams. Assigned to you, Reported by you, or Watched by you are lists made by default.
  • You can make your own lists of Jira issues you care about, or show one of your boards in a channel in Teams.
Currently Jira integration+ supports any Jira board with active sprints. Kanban boards in Company Managed projects are also supported.
See our public Trello board here. Upvote and comment on the board, or contact us directly with any feedback or requests. Go to https://www.nextup.ai and click the blue chat icon in the bottom right corner, or email us at product@nextup.ai.

Example use cases

  • See if too many issues are in the same status (stuck in QA, in progress, etc).
  • Update the status of issues in your project by dragging and dropping them into a different column.
  • Prep for status updates.
  • Use for reference during team meetings.
  • Making sure you keep focused on high priority issues.

Viewing default Jira boards

Inside of Jira Integration+ there are multiple ways to view a Jira board.

The Jira Integration+ App
  • On the left navigation bar, select the Jira Integration+ app.

Pin the app so it's always easy to access. Hold the control key and click the app and select Pin.
Can't find the app to pin it? First click the ellipses ("..."). Then find the app (you search for "Jira Integration+"). When you see the app, hold the control key and then click on the app. Then select Pin.
Using a Jira Integration+ Tab
  • When using a channel with the tab added, select the Jira tab at the top of the channel.
  • You can create your own tabs that show the project(s) and issue(s) you care about.
  1. Go to a channel with the bot installed.
    1. Public or Private channels work.
  2. Click the "+" icon.
  3. Select the Jira Integration+ app.
  4. Select the project with a Jira board you want to show in Teams.
Only projects with boards can show boards in Jira. All Jira projects can show lists of issues.

  8. You can rename the tab by clicking on it, clicking rename, entering a new name, and clicking Save.
Consider renaming the board with the project name, or with information about the types of issues, statuses, or priorities it shows. For example, ⊟ Website Severe Bugs Board

To access the board, go to the channel and click on the tab.

If you don't see the tab in the channel, it may be behind a dropdown with additional tabs. It will end with "more v". Click it and find your Jira board.
