See lists of useful Jira issues inside Microsoft Teams using tabs.

What to know:

  • You must have Jira Integration+ already installed and configured.
  • The bot automatically makes 3 lists of Jira issues for you in chat with the bot: Assigned to me, Reported by me, and Watched by me.
  • You can make an unlimited number of new lists in channels.
  • The lists you make can show issues filtered by project, issue type, status, and issue priority.

Viewing lists of Jira issues

Inside of Jira Integration+ there are multiple ways to view a tab.

Using the Jira Integration+ app default Tabs
  1. On the left navigation bar, select the Jira Integration+ app.
    Pin the app so it's always easy to access. Hold the control key and click the and select Pin.
    Can't find the app to pin it? First click the ellipses ("..."). Then find the app (you search for "Jira Integration+"). When you see the app, hold the control key and then click on the app. Then select Pin.
  2. Teams may automatically load a tab - the Assigned to me tab. Either way, click on any of the 3 tabs - Assigned to me, Reported by me, or Watched by me.

That's it! 🎉

From here you can:

  • Click on an issue for more information.
  • Search and use filters to find specific issues.
  • Sort by clicking on the top of a column.
  • Create new issues.

Using a custom Jira Integration+ Tab
  • When you add the bot to a channel, you create a tab.
    • By default, the tab will be called "≡ Jira", but you can rename them.
  • You can also create additional tabs that show project(s) and issue(s) you care about.

How to add a custom tab:

  1. Go to a channel with the bot installed.
    Public or Private channels work.
  2. Click the "+" icon.
  3. Select the Jira Integration+ app.
  4. Select the project(s) you want issues listed from in this tab.
    You can select one project, or more than one project.
    You can select any project - the bot supports issues from all Jira projects it has permission to access.
  5. You can select other properties to filter the issues that will be listed in the tab.
    1. You can show some or all types of issues.
    2. You can show some or all statuses.
    3. You can show some or all priority levels.
    Start with all. You can modify them at any time. You can also create unlimited additional tabs in channels at any time.
  6. Click Save.
  7. You can rename the tab by clicking on it, clicking rename, entering a new name, and clicking Save.
Consider renaming the list with the project name, or with information about the types of issues, statuses, or priorities it shows. For example, ≡ Website Severe Bugs

From here you can:

  • Click on an issue for more information.
  • Use the search and filters to find specific issues.
  • Sort by clicking on the top of a column.
  • Create new issues

To access the tab, go to the channel and click on the tab.

If you don't see the tab in the channel navigation bar, it may be behind a dropdown. In the navigation bar, you will see something like "1 more v". Click it and then select your tab.
